José E. Feliciano is the Co-Founder of the Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative, a philanthropic grant-making and impact investment organization focused on creating a lasting impact in education, entrepreneurship, equity, and empowerment. To date, the initiative has committed over $200 million to these efforts.

He is also the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Clearlake Capital. He is on the Board of Directors of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Robert Toigo Foundation, and LA28. He is also a trustee of Stanford University, the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino, and J. Paul Getty Trust.

2014

The Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative was Founded.

2017
The Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative (Jones•Feliciano) donated 1 million dollars for Puerto Rico relief.
2019
$1 million was donated to Bennett College in an effort to bridge the funding gap necessary to retain its accreditation.
Pepperdine University Scholar Vincent Vergara interviews Clearlake Capital Co-Founder and Managing Partner José E. Feliciano.
2020
The announcement of a $20 million gift to Princeton University to build two adjoining undergraduate dormitories. The gift was committed with a letter signed in 2019. It was the largest made by Black and Latino donors and gives students of all backgrounds a sense of belonging.

The Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative sponsored Miami Row House where Veronica Toro, the first Puerto Rican Rower in the Olympics trained.
2022

January: The José E. Feliciano & Kwanza Jones SUPERCHARGED Initiative Faculty Scholar Fund was established at Stanford University as a step toward improving the diversity of the Graduate School of Business (GSB) faculty. The announcement was made back in 2019 at the Stanford Latino Alumni Summit.

May: Made a donation of $250,000 to The nsoro Foundation, funding a university education for 20 youths aging out of foster care.

June: Donated $250,000 as a Premier Sponsor of the Apollo Spring Benefit, and paved the way for members of the Harlem community to be included in the Spring Benefit experience.

August: History was made at Princeton as the Kwanza Jones Hall and José E. Feliciano Hall officially opened their doors to students.

2023

February: Made a donation to World Central Kitchen in response to the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria.

March: Made an impact investment with Brady, a nonpartisan organization that takes a comprehensive approach to ending gun violence.

March: Jones•Feliciano allocated funds to Habitat LA's Home Preservation Program which partners with low-income homeowners to provide critical maintenance and repair to preserve their homes. The donation supported 20 families with their home preservation projects and revitalized the neighborhoods where these homes are situated.

April: At SoLa Impact’s 2nd Annual Sneaker Ball Gala and Fundraiser, held in support of the non-profit affiliate SoLa I CAN Foundation, Jones•Feliciano gave a gift of $50,000. This was in addition to a $10,000 matching grant that the organization used to raise an additional $43,000.

May: Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano welcomed friends and family from across the country to join in celebrating the dedication of the Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano Halls at Princeton. These are the dormitories that were built after the $20 million donation in 2019.

June: Provided boost grants to nsoro Foundation & Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California, to support the well-being of the staff who are doing the hard work.

June: Supported the Apollo Theater Spring Benefit with $100,000 at the Vice Chair level. The faculty and scholars from Bennett College were given the opportunity to attend the Apollo Spring Benefit as members of Team Kwanza.

August: Made a donation to Maui United Way in response to the multiple wildfires spreading across Hawaii.

September: Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano engaged in a thoughtful and impactful conversation with Dr. Michael Eric Dyson at My Dream Summit. The conversation was focused on creating opportunities for economic prosperity and social mobility for traditionally underserved communities.

November: Made a $25,000 matching grant to support WRRAP during their Giving Tuesday campaign. This led to a total of $50,850 raised which was used to boost the reproductive health of over 250 women.

December: As a part of our commitment to boost humanity, Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano hosted President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden in their home.

June: Donated $250,000 as a Premier Sponsor of the Apollo’s 90th Anniversary Spring Benefit.

October:Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano were honored with the 2024 Champions of Excellence award at Oliver Scholars’ 40th Anniversary Gala.

December:Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano were honored with the Industry Titan Award at the Silicon Valley Bank Catalyst 2045: Innovators & Icons Awards, by way of The Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative.

December:Kwanza Jones and José E. Feliciano were honored by the Annenberg Foundation with the Limited Partner Catalyst Award in Los Angeles. It was presented by Mayor Karen Bass in recognition of our significant investments in underrepresented fund managers across California, by way of The Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative.

Education

At Jones•Feliciano, we know that the advancement of society starts with education. We believe that in order to move the needle forward the focus must be two-fold: access and quality. For that reason, we are passionate about supporting a variety of Universities both through endowments, as well as direct donations. In the Fall of 2018, Kwanza Jones donated $1,000,000 to Bennett College, one of the country’s oldest Historically black colleges, to help them continue to serve and educate women of color. Shortly after, Jones•Feliciano announced an endowment to Stanford University on behalf of the Stanford Latino Alumni Association, in order to improve the diversity of their Graduate School of Business. Jones•Feliciano has also made donations to Princeton University. In addition to Universities, Jones•Feliciano has supported organizations that provide educational opportunities such as Neighborhood Youth ASSN.
